Clare Reid’s story is one of passion, persistence, and purpose. Growing up in Tasmania, Clare always had a strong sense of community and a fascination with health and wellbeing. That curiosity led her to pharmacy—a profession where science meets care, and where small actions can make a big difference in people’s lives.

After qualifying as a pharmacist, Clare quickly realized that her ambitions extended beyond the dispensary counter. She wanted to create something bigger—a pharmacy that wasn’t just about filling prescriptions, but about building trust, improving health outcomes, and supporting the local community. In 2010, she took a bold step and became Director of Taspharm, a role that would define her career.

Over the years, Clare has transformed Taspharm into more than a business; it’s a hub for innovation and patient-centered care. She introduced services that go beyond traditional pharmacy, from medication reviews to wellness programs, ensuring that every customer feels supported and informed. Her leadership style is grounded in empathy and collaboration—qualities that have earned her respect among peers and loyalty from customers.

Clare’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. Navigating regulatory changes, adapting to new technologies, and responding to evolving patient needs required resilience and vision. But for Clare, every challenge was an opportunity to learn and grow. Today, she continues to advocate for the expanding role of pharmacists in primary healthcare, believing that pharmacists are key to a healthier future.

Outside of work,  Clare is a devoted mother to her daughters and enjoys spending time outdoors with her horses and dog.  She finds balancing her work and family time rewarding.
